52 Weeks of Colour Catch-up Part 1

I had the photo for week 25′s colour Periwinkle all done and set up, but then wham! bang! whallop! RL kicked me in the backside… Facing problems at work, I came depressed and that manifested itself in a major case of SL burn out. Not good for me at the time but I went with the flow, and now having dipped my toe in the water during last week (mainly to clear notices and capped IMs), yesterday & today I have been back in world for best part of each day.

So here is Part 1 of my catch-up session of Luna Jubilee’s 52 weeks of colour challenge…

week 25 – Periwinkle

20/52 – Sky Blue

It’s week 20 of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Colour Challenge. And the colour? Well, it’s NOT another brown!!! It’s a nicer colour…. Sky Blue!!!   The first recorded use of sky blue as a colour name in English was in 1728; before that, since the color name first came into use in 1586, the color had been called simply sky.

When I saw that the colour this week was Electric Lime, I was like “What!?!” and wondered what I would blog this week. I did a search in my inventory for ‘lime’ and ‘electric lime’….. and found that I had just one item in the required colour

Not secret anymore

One of my favourite new stores is The Secret Store. The most recent is the Chiffon Skirt and there were 2 bonus designs available for limited time… 1 @ The Fashion House and 1 as part of the 21.01.11 collection @ The Dressing Room blue. I missed the TDR blue special edition but I did get the Fashion House edition.

16/52 – Teal

This week the colour is Teal. The name & colour comes from the Common Teal, a type of duck, where the eyes of the drakes  (male ducks) are surrounded by feathers of this colour.

When I saw this cute little sweater, the poster said blue but to me it’s teal. Whatever colour it should be, it’s still cute and there is a green one too in store.

October Bargains

I went to the Gnubie store the other day and found that some designers have put out new freebies. One was Nyte Caligari of Nyte & Day…. She has put out 4 new outfits. I have 2 of these outfits to show you. These outfits can be mixed up together or with other items in your wardrobe.

I also decided to go to Multiple Personality Designs (aka MPD) to see what newness they have. I came across this cute short/tank set at the front of the store for free.

The skin I am wearing is Pumpkin Pie in the Reverie tone from Heartsick, and is appropriate for Halloween, so it’s going into my Halloween folder. It also comes 3 other tones.

I haven’t perused the Marketplace as much as I should, but the other day I did find this next outfit for 50L$. It is  listed as a promo priced item. I don’t know long it will be listed at that bargain price for. It includes, the ears, tail, belt and bangles.

Rawr is a neko store, and althought their Midnight Mania boards are for group members only, everyone can get stuff from the lucky chairs. ‘E’ is not a common letter on lucky chairs/boards on the whole, so when I was at Rawr last, I managed to bag the next 2 outfits – Autumn & Psycho.

However, the skin is a limited time offer from AMD (Apple May Designs), as they are having a sale to mark the release of their new skin line, Jessica. The sale is on till 4th September, but I am not sure that the offer ends at the same time or not, so I would hop on over to AMD and get it before it’s gone.

I belong to the Fabulously Free in SL group and often get notices about special offers and freebies offered by the FabFree designers. Recently FabFree hit the 15000 member mark and some designers sent out gifts to celebrate this landmark.The Sassy! dress is one such gift.

I have not taken part in any blogger challanges before, but this one was too good to miss up. The idea is all Alysha Rannahan’s doing. It is quite simple.
