A bit of summer cleaning!

Well, I couldn’t say Spring Cleaning now, right? Well, whatever! I had to sort out my ‘to blog’ folder as I had some stuff from just before my little hiatus, in particular the Seasons Hunt|Spring items and a few cheapies I had brought which I later decided not to blog.

The Seasons Hunt|Spring was a bit like a scavenger hunt, in that instead of going from store to store in a numerical order, you got a notecard list of the participating stores with landmarks and you could choose which stores to go to or not.  I went to my personal favourites…

Truth District

Truth Hawks, the creative brains behind one of the biggest hair brands in SL, has set up a shopping village called Truth District. Until today some of the stores had gifts available to celebrate, including Truth, with the Becky style in all colours!. However, Ducknipple and Curio also sent their gifts to the Truth District update group members.

24/52 – Eggplant

Last week it was Aparagus. This week it’s another vegetable… Yeah, it’s the turn of Eggplant (or Aubergine in UK and Europe). Different varieties of eggplant may range from indigo to white (The term eggplant originated as a description of white colored eggplants because they look like eggs). Chinese eggplant are a dark violet color. Thai eggplant are small, round, and colored forest green.

Hunt Oddballs

Even with an inventory of approx 6K (yep it is that small, lol), there are times when I have to do some inventory weeding out of the stuff that I don’t wear any more. It was a good excuse to go through my ‘To Blog’ folder, especially the Hunt subfolder (yes I am VERY organised, lol) and see what I had picked up. Hence the title, as I haven’t done any real hunting until now as I am doing the Addicted to Halloween Hunt.

To start off this oddball collection is one of my favourite grunge wear stores, Ducknipple.

Sometimes I cannot keep up with all the various blogger opportunities… Project Themeory, 50L$ Fridays, 60L$ Weekends, Bargain Hunters Paradise… But when I do get the notecards about these events, I do a quick check on who is doing what and deciding my best plan of attack is. NO! I do not pyshically attack anyone or anything. I mean that I plan my route carefully to ensure I get to new-to-me stuff, as alot of the designers I know of are in one or more of these events.

One such new-to-me store is Tres Blah. I love vintage clothing and period costume, although I do not do any roleplay. Tres Blah took part in the latest 50L$ Friday event and their item was this lovely strapless top with high-waisted shorts outfit. It has that vintage feel to it and I fell in love with it.

Fri.day has been having a summer sale, with their stuff reduced in price to 50, 75 or 100L$. When I first went to the sale, it was laggy as hell and the lag was like trying to walk through mud. What a day or two makes, lol. I went back over the weekend and the lag was still there but not like it had been. I had not tried their hair before, so this was my perfect opportunity to bag a bargain and brought 3 different hairstyles in the blacks and blondes colour packs at 75L$ each.

Oh, one more bit of news…. Apparently BluAbyss Denimore (of Vive9) is back and has set up shop again. When I went to the new (but smaller!) shop, there were 4 Vive9 bags of freebies left out. I managed to get 2 more sets of skin which I didn’t get when BluAbyss was cosing down Vive9…..

I’m all Black & Blue

No! I’ve not been beaten up and bruised. I have used the title because I have been to the Black and Blue Fair. The Fair opened on Friday 04/06/10, and majority of the items on sale are black, blue or a combination of both.

I have very few stores that I can say are my favourites and one is Ducknipple. You can get fabulous grunge wear at reasonable prices, either as single items or complete outfits.

I had heard that Poses4Posers were closing, with some fatpacks on sale at 25L$ and others at 50L$. I got the OMGawd set which are male poses, but hey… If us girls can wear the bf’s clothes, why not use their poses *giggles*

I was in the mood to experiment with my photos, and having seen some pictures on the other SL fashion blogs with a faded background and highlighted areas. I also experimented with the windlight settings that the Emerald viewer come with already loaded.
